Abstract:

Size reduction of high energy materials such as 1, 3, 5, 7-tetranitro- 1, 3, 5, 7-tetraaza cyclooctane (HMX) has considerable influences on improving their explosive characteristics. In this study, nanosized HMX par‌ticles were produced using ultrasonically reprecipitation method by applying water as a safe and accessible antisolvent instead of unsafe conventional methods. SEM photographs revealed that much uniform and low agglomerated spherical morphology can be obtained at low concentration of HMX- acetone solution with low temperature antisolvent. These results are achieved from SEM and TEM photographs and Digimizer - Winks software.

Preparation of nano-MgO using ultrasonic method and its characteristics

MgO is an important inorganic material, which can be used in many aspects, such as catalyst, toxic-waste remediation agent, adsorbent, and others. In order to make use of MgO, nano-MgO was prepared by ultrasonic method using Mg (CH3COO)2.2H2O as precursor, NaOH aqueous solution as precipitant in this paper. Effect factors on MgO nano-particle size were investigated. Characteristics of samples w...

ultrasonic assisted drilling of bone

ultrasonic assisted drilling (usd) is new technique to drill difficult to machine materials. in this method, tool or workpiece vibrates with amplitude of few microns in addition to conventional drill bite rotation. in this experimental research, the bone was drilled both conventionally and using uad, then the thrust was measured in two methods at feed rates of 50, 75 and 125 mm/s and 500, 710 a...

High Speed Preparation of GdCaAl3O7:Eu Nano-Phosphors by Microwave-Assisted Combustion Approach

GdCaAl3O7:Eu red nano-phosphors were synthesized by solution combustion using urea as fuel. Fourier-transform infrared, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope and photoluminescence spectrophotometer were used to characterize the obtained samples. XRD patterns revealed that GdCaAl3O7:Eu pure phase was formed by combustion of metal nitrate solution in th...

Ultrasonic–Assisted Co–Precipitation Method of Preparation of Nanocomposites in The Al2O3–TiO2–ZrO2 System: Characterization and Microsturcture

Recently, the Al2O3–TiO2–ZrO2 system has found valuable applications, particularly, as a support for NOx storage–reduction (NSR) catalysts. Nanocomposite powders were prepared from the co-precipitation method in inorganic precursors. The behaviors of mixed oxide nanoparticles under ultrasonic irradiation, such as dispersion, and crushing were studied. Phase transformations, crystallite size, an...

Ultrasonic Fabrication of Monodispersed Nano-Copper Oxide

A green environmental friendly process for preparing monodispersed cuprous oxide nanoparticles is reported. In this process, cuprous oxide is prepared using Cu(OH)42- as precursor and glucose as reducing agency in the presence of dispersant under ultrasonic radiation. Spherical, welldispersed Cu2O nanoparticles were obtained with the average size of 200 nm or 1.5 μm, respectively, with or witho...
